Great post, do you know if there are more Solar Farms in the states? With the nuclear disaster in Japan I think we may have a more receptive audience now then ever before. Solar Energy Pros and Cons

Thank you for providing us so helpful information with us. As the solar power is the green energy for us, it will be the next generation providing us power. It is time for us promoting the solar power to more people, and they could share the benefits from the new green power.

I'm all for it. You can get 30% rebate on your solar powered hot water systems now too, so the tax credits do help ease the pain of that initial investment of a solar panel system.

I think this is great. People can invest locally and reduce their carbon footprint. Solar energy is becoming more economical and those tax credits are helping to spur interest.

I live right next to a wind farm thats quiet and its brilliant, they also have lovely plants surrounding them, erm, I believe it would be similar to a solar farm, my friend in Kansas lives next to one, and house prices rose 0.7%, hardly anything and it has lowered his electricity bill incredibally, also vegetation hasnt lowered or increased its remained the same.off grid power

I want to buy something cheap that I can use as just a regular plug. I'd like to be able to plug anything into it (microwave, cell phone charger, lap top, etc.). I've seen many solar chargers but they are only compatible with USB or with specific models of phones. Is there a solar panel that I can just plug a 2 or 3 prong plug into? THANKS!

This is really great. I hope we'll see more things like this as more federal programs are setup to provide tax benefits and assistance to green energy companies as a result of the stimulus passing.

Jane,
I think that solar is still a little too expensive. I'm sure it will take off once the cost comes down or the cost of current electrical generation goes up, or both. Interesting article on BioGas in California on your website.
